The next presentation of this course is condensed over 16 days and will be delivered online. The course covers the same material and attracts the same award as the 20-day version.
The course contains four strands: skills, knowledge, self-awareness and ethics.
It is designed for people in helping or caring professions and in informal settings with family or friends. It helps the candidate to develop and apply counselling skills in non-counselling settings.
This training programme in counselling skills is accredited by COSCA (the professional body for counselling in Scotland). Successful completion provides a professionally recognised qualification in counselling skills which has 40 credits at SCQF level 8. It is an excellent starting point for those who wish to train as a counsellor or psychotherapist.
